As mentioned in my last post, a posture which is hunched over and curled up produces an increase cortisol, ie stress. It follows that if you are feeling cold during the winter months when we naturally hunch our bodies over to try and keep warm, the feelings of stress will be increased. If however we are able to wrap up warmly and move about in an upright manner with our shoulders back and neck tall, our levels of cortisol drop and our levels of testosterone rise, prompting feelings of confidence. This might be beneficial to bear in mind for those of us who start to feel a little depressed over winter.
