Bad posture over a period of time results in trigger points in your muscles which can pull the bones into unnatural twists or curves. An example of this is the dreaded dowager’s hump. A humped back is merely a result of tight chest and neck muscles. An apparent short leg is often just a collection of trigger points drawing up that particular side of the body which results in tilting the pelvis to one side, causing pain in the hip. Any abnormal spinal curve can often be the result of trigger points  simply pulling the bones of the vertebrae out of alignment.

This can all be addressed with some deep tissue massage treatments, eliminating the trigger points and thus allowing the muscles to stretch back to their full capacity and allowing in turn the bones to return to a more neutral and pain-free position.
